If you take a good look at those who live the American dream to some degree, you will find people that do more than just talk about the goodness of living the American dream. They talk about what they had to do in order to bring that dream to pass. Some may have went to college, trade school, excelled in sports, acting, build a business, company man/woman, and on and on it goes. The point is that they had to put their hands to work on the substance needed to bring to pass their piece of the American dream. What is the substance needed for you to bring to pass the dream that you hope for? We have to do more than just talk about it, or hope about it. In the natural, they do require that the evidence be seen in order for you to move forward. I must show a business plan, have collateral, produce a certain credit score, present references, and lay forth experience that says yes I can be a success.
We Christians are able to have an expanded opportunity toward living the American dream, or toward bringing to pass the things hoped for. Many of us are living in that expanded opportunity, and living a life more abundantly. This is exactly why Jesus came to earth and died for our sins so we would have that opportunity here on earth: John 10:10, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. The many of us who have added degrees, trades, climbed their company’s ladder, arts, writing, skills, talents, businesses, and all the many other things added in order to live a productive life; should be able to step into the door of abundance. The people of the world who have added these things to their lives, they do ok and better than most when it comes to having a piece of the American dream. They do well because they understand that this is how life works if they are to live well. They know that they must prepare themselves to function in society among the rest of their peers. So the people of the world grow up knowing to prepare, the same as do Christians. So what is the difference in the results between the two groups living for the same space?
The big difference is that the people that live by the ways of the world, are committed by their actions as well as by their beliefs. There is no derogatory thoughts being made here when I say people that live by the ways of the world. They are suppose to live by the rules, and regulations in society as they build their life. We all, including Christians, grow up in our society trying to prepare ourselves for a life of abundance and success as we live amongst our neighbors. When we grow up to graduate from high school, and then to go into what is next for us, this is the way of our society which is good for all of us. This is the way of a good society in this world; therefore, it is not to be confused with the negatives associated when there is talk of someone being worldly: 1 John 2:16, For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. There are many non-Christians in this world who do not live worldly: the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
So how are Christians able to have an expanded opportunity toward living the American dream, or toward bringing to pass the things hoped for over other good people in society? Well, since both Christians and non-Christians basically follow the same rules of society: education, work, housing, banking, law and order, and so forth and so on; let’s call that part equal opportunity for both. Here is where Christians should be able to have expanded opportunity if they are skill in using their faith to pull resources from their spiritual inventory. Once Christians have used all of their known resources from the world or natural side just as other people do, Christians should put their faith to work to pull in additional resources currently unknown to them. There are always additional resources available, but how does one get to these unknown resources? We must exercise our faith in God: Philippians 4:19, But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. So when we run out of resources in the natural, do we have the faith and belief that God will come through with the goods? Well, Do we? This is when we face an expanded opportunity in which the other good people will not be entertaining in the same manner. The other good people will also have hope, and they will keep trying to succeed to the end; however, we Christians should be able to go to God to receive our successful end.
Here is why the end comes to Christians at times before they have received the thing in which they hoped for. The main reason is not lack of faith. Christians will be the last ones standing when it comes to maintaining their faith to the end of a faith operation. The reason we come up short more times than we like is because we lack the skill to operate our faith in God at the right moment. We can’t just stand there in faith without working our faith when it needs to be worked. Jesus himself tells us that we must work our faith along with the Godheads: John 5:17, “But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.” Why is the skill to work not there? The understanding of how God set this thing up to work needs to be made clear to the body of Christ. First, all Christians just need to know that the fulness of God is in Jesus for the body to use: Colossians 1:19, “For it pleased the Father that in him(Jesus) should all fulness dwell;” therefore, once you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you too dwell in Jesus along with where the fulness of God dwells. This pleased the Father for this to be so, plus, it gives the members of the body of Christ access to the fulness of God.
Next, we need to understand the structure that has been intentionally set up for us to have access to the fulness of God: Colossians 2:9, “for in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” Here is where the skill will come into play. It is set up for us to access the fulness of God through the Godhead bodily as worked out by Jesus. In the above scripture, John 5:17, Jesus knew that the Father-Godhead had worked it for the man to be there by the pool all those years hitherto; now, Jesus knew the Word that he had been sent to heal, will move into the Word-Godhead. Lastly, to have the fulness of the Godhead at work, Jesus will move into the Holy Ghost- Godhead for the gifts of healing to heal the man. Now that is the fulness of God through the Godhead as Jesus moved in and out of the Godhead to complete the man’s healing. This is how we need to move, when we see the Godhead move. This is how Jesus set it up for the body to have access to the fulness of God. And remember, if we don’t move in and out of the Godhead, the next Godhead will not move: John 16:7, Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. Once we have exhausted the Word that we stand on, we must then step into the move of the Holy ghost-Godhead to move deeper into the fulness of God. If we just sit in Word, and not let it go away once it is exhausted, or at full faith, then the Holy Ghost will not be able to come unto us. Then we will not move into the next level of the fulness of God; and this is why we leave without the thing we hoped for. It’s time to stop leaving the things that we hope for on the table because we lack the skill to move and finish it out. It’s time to walk the Godhead out to the finish.
