We have seen surfers spend hours out on the water, surfing wave after wave, in hopes of catching that one big one to ride it out to glory! When Jesus was preparing to feed the 5000, we can read how he spent time surfing a disciple on how he would feed them, when Jesus knew all along how he would feed them: John 6:5-7, When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? 6) And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. 7) Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. One might ask, why is Jesus surfing the disciples for the solution, when he already had the solution? I am glad that one did ask the question why, and here is the answer: John 6:8-10, One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him, 9)There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? 10) And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. The reason that Jesus ask is that the God side of Jesus already knew what he would do being God, and knowing all things; however, being here as the son of man, and for the sake of man, he can not technically already know what he would do yet without some assistance. In order for the son of man, and just man as we are, to know what to do in a faith operation, we will need a little help. I bet the light bulb is going off in many of your minds right now. Well, let’s take a brighter look at it since we have turn the lights on.
When a regular son of man(you and me) needs to know what to do next in a faith operation, we go surfing. Jesus did this not only to be technically right here on earth as man, but also to set the example for the disciples to learn and follow. If we want to ride the best wave we can that day, or find the best movie on television right now, then we must go surfing. We must surf the water, surf the net, and in the case to feed the 5000; we must surf the things that have been placed in our surroundings that match the Word of God. How do we surf the things that have been placed in our surroundings, in order to know what to do next? Well, let’s see what Jesus did to keep things in compliance with earth regulation for deity operation. Jesus gets it started by asking Philip what to do, and then on cue, after Philip speaks, in comes Andrew with the information that Jesus needed in order to do what he already knew to do. So here is the answer to the question concerning how do we surf the things that have been placed in our surroundings? We surf the things by hearing when they have come into our midst or surroundings: Romans 10:17, So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Once Jesus heard from Andrew that there is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes; now Jesus hears the Word of faith in which he already knew. You and I will also, already have a Word, in which we are standing on to hear of faith substance. Now, when we hear faith substance has entered into our midst, or surroundings; then, we know that the time has come to work with it in faith. Jesus being the Word for centuries before he was made flesh to come dwell among us, yeah, he knew from jump what he would do. You and I will not know from jump, what faith substances are in our midst, or what faith substances will be in our midst until they notify us by our hearing. Jesus already knew what to do being the Word made flesh; However, he waited until he was notified by his hearing before he moved in faith.
These are just crucial, basic faith operation procedures, that are needed just to get us through the Word-God time. It is this phase that we must enter and clear by making the right choices as we are “hearing” faith according to the word of God. Jesus knew that the Word of God was to feed the 5000; therefore, when he hears about the five loaves and two fishes, he knows faith to move has come. When we hear the faith substance come, then we know that the faith to move has come, or is at hand. This is how we build up our preparation to be ready for Father-God time that is in line for us to enter into when the time for Father-God is at hand. The other thing that we have to be careful about when surfing through the Word, and that is to make sure that we fully exhaust the Word in order to bring it to pass. Jesus just didn’t break bread, and they all was just fed. No, there are other things that go into play in order for the operation to be a success: small or big operation, the Word must be fully exhausted, or carried out completely. We must leave no stone Word unturned. What other Word did Jesus give the disciples during the process to feed the people? In John 6:10-11, And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. 11) And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. In Mark 6:39-40, And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass. 40) And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties. In Luke 9:14-15, For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company. 15) And they did so, and made them all sit down. The point is based on what the Word of God tells you to do, do it accordingly. In the different passages, the direction is basically the same, however, they have differences. The differences that we discount, could be the difference in bringing to pass our faith operation.
The reason that we exhaust the Word completely is to make sure the next transition is done smoothly, and all are ready to complete the operation. Once Jesus has everyone seated and in order, he is ready to move from Word-God time, into Holy Ghost-God time, and then lastly into Father-God time. This is a very important part of multiplying the two fish and five loaves. Jesus has done all of the Word: and now, we don’t need more Word done: we need Power to multiply. The Word is not the one to multiply, but Power faith and working of miracles will get the job done. When we have exhausted the Word completely, we must move into power mode: is the Holy Ghost moving in a Church service, has the Holy Ghost gifted you, or is a member of the body you know gifted in the midst? We have to move from Word to Power in order to bring it to pass. Remember, if we don’t finish the Word in a particular faith operation, the Power will not come: John 16:7, Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. Jesus was telling the Apostles right before he left, not to leave Jerusalem without power. The Word alone will not do the job. Jesus goes ahead and gives thanks to the Father as he is ready to finish the Will of the Father. We now have all three phases of the Godhead operation completed. This is the way we move through the Godhead, and move in and out of the fulness of God. It really helps us out now that Jesus is more of our advocate, and with his knowing everything, he can move inventory into our hearing reach. John 10:9, I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. When we walk out the Word, and then move into power to finish, the Father is right there awaiting his Will to be done.
