La La Land is defined as being dream like, distracted and out of touch with your beliefs. If you only slightly think about it, you can easily see why it would not be the kind of place recommended by God for you to stick around; however, it is a place in which you will have to at least pass through. La La Land has been placed right at the outskirts of where God is taken you to your destination; therefore, in order to get to your destination, you must pass through it. We have all been in places or stopped in places while enroute to our destination in which we were just passing through. We had no real desire or intent to stay there, but we saw something interesting, so we stopped to check it out. The true test for us all concerning La La Land is that we have to be in it, or go through it, in order to have a crossover view of it to determine if we will stay or pass through. It is put at the outskirts of your destination in order to see if you will want to stay in it. La La Land has so much to offer you, but you can only get it by changing your destination from where you were going, to where you have now arrived. We also need to keep in mind that we are already close to our destination which is right there on the other side once we pass on through La La Land. It reminds me of one of the Star-Trek’s episodes where they landed to answer a distress alert, and they ended up not wanting to leave. We usually land or stop by La La Land to answer a supply need alert, and La La Land hopes that we will end up not wanting to leave.
The best way to think of it would be to think of the Prodigal son in reverse, who had everything, but he wanted to leave it to go through his La La Land. We all know how that worked out for him, as La La Land may seem to have much of what one could desire, it is really there to take away from you, all that arrived with you. The Prodigal son left home full of possessions, but La La Land allowed him to use it all up. You see, La La Land did not take away, or make the Prodigal give away anything; however, he chose to let all that happened to him by remaining there until he had no more. The reason why I want you to think about La La Land in reverse of the Prodigal son is because he was already at his destination, but, he still went looking for that in which he and his older brother were already blessed not to pass through. When we are enroute to our destination, we will be allowed to pass through in order to know what we missed. Once God gets us to our destination, we will be able to stick and stay as we recall what was left on the outskirts of our destination.
The things that are in La La Land, are the inefficiencies of life that cause us to trip up, and not complete the destination in which God has put us on. The reason that we look at La La Land in reverse of the Prodigal son is because we have not arrived at our destination as he had arrived at his. We will not already have everything, and need not anything, as was the case with him prior to his departure to go looking for his La La Land. We, those enroute to our destination by the hand of the Lord, will pass by these inefficiencies of La La Land along the way. It is in this passing that we find out what it is that may challenge our need to continue on our path, or not. There is nothing in La La Land that will bring additional fulfilment to our lives, as the Prodigal son discovered while already having everything. We will discover in reverse, while not already having everything, if the temporary things in La La Land can get us to stay. The thing about being enroute to a destination with the Lord is that you may run into a need that La La Land can fill for you now. Will you wait on the Lord to fulfil your need, or will you allow the need to be temporarily filled now? How do you know what is what in La La Land? The prodigal son in reverse new what was what because it always cost him to have his needs filled in La La Land. When God is not fulfilling our need according to his will for us, what did we pay from ourselves to receive the supply? La La Land will always require you to pay with what you do have, even though, your desire is only to pass through.
We are allowed to go into a place where the grass looks greener for a minute; but the intent of God, is that you desire to pass on through, and let him take care of you. Oh yes, La La Land in reverse, is a test of your trust in God at a time when you are in need. We say that God is always on time, but the truth be known, God is always in time: welcome to life with the Father. The Lord may put you by a brook called Cherith, and then have you fed on time for a minute. If you were in La La Land in reverse like the prodigal son, you would eat that supplied to you, at a cost to you. The thing is, we are not at our need stations in reverse; but we are at our need stations in real time. We don’t have our share of the family inheritance to waist, we still have to first get to our destination. So are we going to trust God, and just remain at the no longer feeding me Brook of Cherith, or do we leave the brook to enter into La La Land. Whatever need station you find yourself at as you are enroute to a destination led of God, here is where you really make the decision to pass through La La Land and trust in God. Trusting in God is not the most easiest thing to do at times, but it better to know that you trust him going forward, than to find out that you don’t in reverse.
When we find ourselves at the crossroads of trusting God, or remaining in La La Land, now it can be a happy day. The crossroads of trusting God is just par for the course. It is not a strange occurrence that just happen to catch us by surprise as we were following the yellow brick road. We should have been ready, willing an able to move forward in the trust because this is what we do. We follow God to a destination in which he promises to deliver, and we continue on until it is time for the trust factor to kick in. Is there anyone that knows the Lord, who actually expected to get to a destination, without having to display your trust in him? Well, welcome to La La Land. This is what we do when we follow the will of God to a destination: we must not only be ready to begin it in trust, but we must also be ready to end it in trust. La La Land is just the dream part of our walk in which we hope for a minute that there will be no need stations along the way that will require our trust. We hope that we gave our trust at the office, and now we will just sail on, and sail on. Nope, this is the reason that La La Land awaits us at the outskirts of our destination. It is there to remind us what is required to complete our destination in God: Trust and more trust, and we are glad that we don’t have to pass through it in reverse. Thank you Father-God.
